Oftentimes, non-visual text input methods on mobile devices for the blind are tedious and assume that the blind person can use two hands (see video submission for demos of current text input methods). The Gesture Braille Keyboard (GBK) is a natively installable keyboard that enables blind people to input text on their smartphones using just one finger (GPK currently only writes in Unified English Braille). I brainstormed these gestures for the hackathon with a one-handed braille reader and myself.
