1st Place: Gene Kim’s Gesture Braille Keyboard Oftentimes, non-visual text input methods on mobile devices for the blind are tedious and assume that the blind person can use two hands (see video submission for demos of current text input methods). The Gesture Braille Keyboard (GBK) is a natively installable keyboard that enables blind people to input text on their smartphones using just one finger (GPK currently only writes in Unified English Braille). I brainstormed these gestures for the hackathon with a one-handed braille reader and myself. 2nd Place: John Uysal and Will Choi’s Color Clarifier 3rd Place: Shayna Ahteck and Zander Hary’s Cane Collection Stuff for Sticks is a curated collection of 3D printable open-source accessories for cane users.
